Human-machine collaboration in managerial decision making

چکیده
Although Artificial Intelligence (AI) has become a pervasive organizational phenomenon, it is still unclear if and when people are willing to cooperate with machines. We conducted five empirical studies (total N = 1025 managers). The results show that human managers do not want exclude machines entirely from managerial decisions, but instead prefer partnership in which humans have majority vote. Across our studies, acceptance rates steadily increased up until the point where approximately 70% weight 30% decisions. After this curve flattened out, meaning higher amounts of involvement no longer acceptance. In addition overall pattern, we consistently found four classes reacted differently different versus machine involvement: A first class (about 5%) preferred upper hand, second 15%) an equal between machines, third 50%) final 30%) complete control Practical implications directions for future research discussed.
